How to Listen

There are two ways to listen to titles from FamilyAudioLibrary: At your computer or on the go. Our content is encoded in the most universally accessible digital format in the world...MP3.

No matter where you want to listen, the first step is downloading the files to your computer.

FOR MOST WEB BROWSERS:

  1. Right click on the file’s link (Mac Users Control+Click).
  2. Choose “Download Linked File” -or- "Save Target As"
  3. Specify where you want the file to be saved on your computer.

FOR FIREFOX:

  1. LEFT-Click on each file's link.
  2. File will automatically begin downloading to the browser's default location.

For accounting purposes, the links expire after one use. However, there is a system in place for granting access to the files again... just look for the "request access" link which will appear under the book's title in the "My Library" section of your user account, after all files have been downloaded (or attempted). These requests are usually granted within minutes of our receipt of them, 24 hours a day.

Once the files are saved to your computer, you need only to double-click on their icon to listen there or, to take them with you, burn them to Compact Discs, or transfer them to your portable player.

To burn CDs, you’ll need a third-party program like iTunes (available free for both Mac and PC at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ).

If you’d like to put the files on your portable player, follow your specific player’s instructions.
